Good Bye 2009

So the year has come to an end... I must say, as much as I didn't love 2009, I didn't exactly hate it either. I've been meet a lot of great people and with school almost coming to an end as well, my life just feels like it's about to settle. The most significant thing so far was probably ending my three year relationship that was going absolutely nowhere. I'm happy. I just wish it happened sooner. People ask how I could turn from being ridiculously crazy about him to not caring whatsoever in such a short period of time. It isn't easy but I've wanted it for a while, and I had great friends to support me. I think I always held onto him because I didn't want to be alone. It was as if I had forgotten what it was like to be single, instead of a part of a pair. I should've known that I would be plenty fine without him. In fact, I feel more complete alone, than I ever felt while I was with him. I don't think I was myself before, but now I can be, and that feeling made all the difference for me.

Changes in the New Year!
1. Be more proactive. I have soo many little projects that I wanted to do but never really got to.
2. Save more money! Like maybe another 10gs. I tried last year and fell short. :(
3. Be healthier, inside and out. My mind needs some purging of all my negative thinking.

I may not be able to keep them, but it's fun to think of things you want to change in your daily life. I'll think of some more but those are the things that come to mind so far. Any suggestions? What are your resolutions this year?

New Apps

It's been a while since I've written and I can honestly say I've been too busy to update. That, and with school back in session I really have no life. No life = No going out = Nothing to write about. Lovely, isn't it?

I'm going to make this short and sweet. I'm a freak for social networking sites! I LOVE them! Ever since AsianAvenue came into my life, I've been joining every site that interests me out there. Obviously I'm beginning to pick and choose which one I want to join these days and there hasn't been too many that have caught my eye since Facebook and Twitter but I'm trying to make this next one work. FourSquare was launched last month and I still don't know how to use it quite yet but until I figure it out, join it and add me as a friend. :)

New as of this early last week: Google Street! I've been playing with it and I'm so entertained :) I think it'd be interesting to see how businesses use that to their advantage.

Horoscope of the Day -- because they're fun.

I like to look at my horoscope from time to time, not because I believe in them but because it's just something to do I suppose. This one really stood out to me however, because for a while I've been thinking that I needed to find someone who was more like-minded to myself.. Not in every way, but at least in habits and ethics.

Aquarius:
"If you're looking for love, now is the time to try someone new and maybe quite different from your usual type. Your mind is the best resource you've got, so seek out someone who resonates with you mentally."

Although I'm always looking to find my future love, I do want to be single for a year.. Just once. It's so hard to do though.. :(

I'm Narcissistic

and I don't care. :)

Really, is there something wrong with it? I think that deep down everyone is. You can't really say that you aren't the best thing that has ever happened to yourself, can you? So then tell me, what's so wrong about it?

What do you do when..

you still care but you don't?
you want to hold on but you can't?
you wish it would work but it won't?
you hope there was another way but there isn't?

what do you do when the love runs dry?

Thinspiration Anyone?

So it's no big secret that I am currently struggling to lose the weight I've gained over the past year. Last night, I discovered that my cousin is trying to work off her baby weight so we decided that we'll keep tabs on each other every week to see where we're at. The first to lose 40 pounds wins. Wins what? I'm not too sure. We should probably decide on that soon. In any case, the greatest reward will come when I'm 40 pounds lighter so the other benefits doesn't really concern me but does help motivate me. Any suggestions on how to lose the weight for good? I don't want to be yo yo dieting for the rest of my life anymore. It always ends up coming back in greater numbers :(

So far I plan on:
  • regular healthy breakfasts such as plain oatmeal with fruit
  • many mini meals each day
  • morning runs 3-5 times a week
  • 3 fork sized dessert bites
  • lots of water!!
  • quit drinking (excessively)

My game plan is all about moderation. I know it isn't much but I need a sustainable plan to make it a lifestyle change, not just a temporary change The last time I cut everything "yummy but unhealthy" out of my diet I lost 10 pounds in less than 2 weeks but gained way more in the long run :( Need more ideas, that's for sure. I want to look and feel great again.

    Get Rid of Procrastination

So.. I've come to the conclusion that I will do quite a bit for money, and that often leads me to put other things off regardless of how important they may be. Putting the two together I thought up an experiment and hopefully it'll work to my advantage. I'm going to..... pay myself to do whatever I have to do. Simple, isn't it? Effortless yet tedious tasks such as washing dishes regularly would only equate to a few bucks but larger, impossible tasks such as cleaning my room (for those of you who don't know, it's disgustingly messy and it really does take days..) will be more along the double digits.. Also, I'll put aside some cash for things I should be doing regularly like working out and studying/going to class. All this will go to my next vacation to __enter location here__ next year. Most likely Toronto but I'd like to be able to go to other places as well.. Not just T.dot. haha. We'll see how far I get with this. And I'll let you know if it works. :) Feel free to try this at home. :P
